Unsilent partners is an experiment, a collaboration, by a US lawyer (Colin Samuels) and a UK legal academic (Mike Semple Piggot) to exchange information, commentary, analysis on interesting legal issues in the US and the UK.
It is a freeform blog with each writer posting commentary as and when the mood takes and commenting on the other’s post where apprpriate.

Colin Samuels is a corporate counsel for a software company headquartered in Northern California. He has been blogging at Infamy or Praise since early 2005. Since 2006, he has been a “Sherpa” at Blawg Review, the weekly carnival of legal blogging; he has also hosted four editions of Blawg Review, each of which has been awarded a “Blawg Review of the Year” award. He is the author of “Humanizing the Profession: Lawyers Find Their Public Voices Through Blogging” (11 Nexus L. J. 89 (2006)) and a contributing author to Blogging and Other Social Media (Gower Publishing Limited, 2008) and Legal Profession: Modern Approach (The Icfai University Press, 2008).
Mike Semple Piggot is editor of Insite Law Magazine and the author of the Charon QC blog. In his 30 years in education, refusing to be involved in the traditional academic world, he has been involved in various education and publishing initiatives. In 1990 he founded BPP Law School with BPP Holdings PLC – leaving in 1998. Mike now spends his time in consultancy and in keeping an eye on developments in law, legal education and the world of lawyers. The Charon QC blog is his vehicle for the surreal and Insite Law is where the serious stuff is posted. His life continues unpredictably and that is the way he likes it.
